The purpose of ARS Ceramics Centre is to develop ceramics art and design and to mediate technological knowhow and expertise to professional artists and public. Workshops and courses take place all year around.
Courses
Triin Lehismets from ARS Ceramics Centre teaches throwing on potter’s wheel. Workshop is for everyone – from total beginners who have no previous experience, and to those who have been dabbling with potters wheel before. All you need is just to get on with it. Courses take place once a week; participants learn to use high heat clay and glazes.
Workshop in detail
You’ve wished to try throwing on potters wheel but lacked opportunity or courage? Or you been dabbling with clay before and wish to learn the ins and outs under tutors watchful eye? Then is ARS Ceramics Centre offered workshop on potters wheel right for you. Participants master basic knowledge and techniques to throw on potters wheel. Keep in mind that it takes at least two sessions to complete one piece. Educator will glaze the bisque fire object. If you wish to glaze the piece yourself, you’ll have to participate at least in three sessions. If you arrange it with educator, you can come by and throw on potters wheel also outside regular hours. Participation requires registration through email.
About educator
As of 2021 Triin Lehismets has a BA degree on ceramics from Estonian Academy of Arts; she continues her studies on practical arts and design. Triin takes interest in developing different glazes and nuances of glazes. Lately she’s been also dabbling with clay pulps.
