The purpose of ARS Ceramics Centre is to develop ceramics art and design and to mediate technological knowhow and expertise to professional artist and public. Workshops and courses take place all year around.

About workshop


Triin Lehismets from ARS Ceramics Centre offers basic clay sculpting workshops to beginners. It is meant to everyone interested in arts – to the elderly and youngsters who like to dabble with their own projects.
If you are looking for new creative challenges, this is for you; earlier experience is not required. Workshops take place once a week, rate depends on participation.

Workshop in detail


Basic knowhow and different techniques on handling clay:
  • Hand building.
  • Coiling technique.
  • Slab building.

There are also workshops on glazing techniques. High heat stoneware and high temperature glazes are used in workshops. Workshop does not include learning on potters wheel. Keep in mind that it takes at least two weeks to finish one piece of pottery.
Participation requires registration through email. One can apply to the workshop if there are still slots open. All materials are included on price.

Educator


As of 2021 Triin Lehismets has a BA degree on ceramics from Estonian Academy of Arts; she continues her studies on practical arts and design. Triin takes interest in developing different glazes and nuances of glazes. Lately she’s been also dabbling with different clay masses.
